Malabar eText is an adaption of the Malabar typeface for eReading devices and other screen-based reading environments.

A clear and enjoyable reading experience hinges on the legibility of text copy, especially when reading on screen. This is why Monotype has developed the eText collection of fonts specifically tailored for the text-heavy display environments of e-readers, tablets, mobile devices, and the Web.

Malabar® eText is a special version of the Malabar typeface. It has fewer weights, but the weights are better hinted. The fonts also include Cyrillic and Greek characters, which the other Malabar fonts do not. Malabar’s eText version first appeared on the nook Simple Touch reader. This reader used an eInk screen.
