Unfortunately, I won’t be preparing a Thanksgiving dinner at my palatial German estate this year. Instead, I’ll be sharing it with two other American expats, a part-time American, and several more people who are all far away from home. Isn’t that what the first Thanksgiving was all about anyway? I guess we don’t have to deal with the dangers of freezing to death or negotiate foreign policy with local tribes, though. More to be thankful for, perhaps.
